I never had apple crisp in school in the 60's, but this is an old
family recipe, and it is very good, and contains no oatmeal. I hope it
works for you.
Ingredients:
7 apples, chopped
1/4 c water
1 tsp lemon juice (plastic lemons are fine)
3/4 c flour
1 c sugar
1/4 tsp salt
7 tbsp butter
Mix water and lemon juice: sprinkle over apples. Place in large,
flat baking dish (the more spread out the apples are, the crispier the
coating--otherwise, the size pan is not terribly important).
Mix the last four ingredients until crumbly. Spread over
apples. Bake at 350 degrees 35-40 minutes.
Thanks to Nola Hall.
